Right on! Did the tuchodi with kevin 2 years ago and had a blast! you will have an awesome time! Its an unreal area with abundant wildlife, hike away from the river a ways and you will have a good chance for success! good luck, let us know how you fare.

just came back from 16 days on muskwa Kevin usually stops in but no sign of him this year, I asked a few people if they seen him & 1 guy told me he was working somewhere else & some one else was maybe packing his hunters. Is there any truth to this or all BS?

Any success stories up the Tuchodi? We are booked with Kevin for Sept 10 next year, just wondering how sept went for those that went up this year.

Back now from the greatest hunting experience of my life!! The boat ride with Kevin alone is worth the Trip. I took my 6point elk in the Chetwynd area before we left so had no tag.

I got to help my cousin take his first elk on the tuchodi, also a 6x6 with heavy bases,on the 4th day of our hunt! We woke up to 3inchs of snow on our little spike camp tent, quickly got dressed and starting walking down the ridge we camped on. After walking 7-8 hundred yards from our tent I spotted him coming up the hill with a herd of cows. 4 times while trying to count points he started to take off and I stopped him with a chirp from my cow call. I finally confirmed 6 and told my cousin to shoot. He dropped with one shot to the spine and took off down the mountain like a tobbogan with us in hot pursuit. we caught up to him in the bottom of a ravine and a another shot to the head finished him off.

The other two members of our group heard the shots and after a radio call to them they started up the mountain to help with the pack out. We caped him out and boned out the meat and were able to take it all in one trip between the 4 of us. Good thing too, we later discovered a Grizz trailed us all the way back to the river.

After a few days of resting, fishing, and moose calling from base camp we set out into the hills again.
We climbed higher this time moving our spike camp to 5200 ft. After a tough climb packing spike camp and 9 litres of water I collapsed into my tent. We awoke to a cold windy morning put our frozen boots on and started walking, after about 15mins the guy in the lead spots a cow , we all drop out of sight and the two with tags still belly crawl closer. Turns out to be a 5x5 bull with 10 cows, one of the boys decides to take a nice fat cow. We boned out and bagged the cow, take down our spike camp and go back to the river with another knee buckling load.

i will post pics of the rack and of my bull I got prior to the trip, but not pics of other members of our group as I have not asked them for permission to do that.

The scenery from high above the tuchodi is absolutely breathtaking and I am now hooked and must go back!

That's awesome, I am booked for next year with two buddies from Sask. Did you have a wall tent setup for base camp? I am planning on wall tent for base camp and backpack tent for spike camp. You mentioned 9litres of water. Is there I ited water sources back up in the hills above the river?

thanks
