its being shared like crazy on facebook. sturgeon society the province and our favorite global tv as well as co office has been notifled by people already. this is his quote "Ill keep fishing to not much anyone can do about it so fish on"
he obviously doesnt care. things may happen because of all the dead fish floating down lately

Not true- COs and DFO are taking the sturgeon fishery VERY seriously this year- Lots of illegal fishing and retention has been reported, and dealt with.

I don't know a whole lot about sturgeon but that it's a prehistoric fish. The photos I was able to see was just with him and the fish out of water for a pic? Is that wrong? Or am I missing something

That fish should never leave the water. The sheer weight of its own body on land is enough to damage its internal organs. It is meant to maintain its buoyancy in the water. It's gills can only draw oxygen to support its life system from water so every second out of the water it is starving for oxygen. By the look of the bight around it's tail it is possible it was pulled onto the beach by its tail backwards which could push sand into its gills. All in all, a pretty stressful time for that sturgeon.

Daybreak thanks for the post, Oclarkii thanks for the links. I had no idea about the seriousness of handling the fish that way!
Well there isn't too much you can do about what he's already done. Being FN he's almost got the Midas touch. Grossly mishandled fish and not released them in a timely and respectful manner. There is only one hope for HOPE, that he gets some training in how to properly and respectfully release fish so's not to harm them. If he's going to guide he has to know how to release fish without harming them and to know it's not all about the photo's. By the way if he wasn't FN he would have had a hell of a fine and his guiding licence revoked. That I'm pretty sure of.

The CO/DFO service takes the sturgeon fisheries very seriously.
As said- pay attention to Global either today or tomorrow on these pics.

Im not sure where your coming from or what your point is but the fishing community is fairly big and i know the hope area is very popular with salmon and sturgeon. So im telling you sir, its twice now that you have posted right after me with a stupid comment contradict me. You either a fan of me or got nothing better to do

No, that pretty much answered it.
Though I was thinking that we should 'sticky' most of his 'What should I buy' threads. There is a ton of good info from people that didn't know he was trolling and those questions do get asked quite a bit.

Last time I checked the BCWF was not an enforcement agency, but I could be wrong. Would you care to share what you think they can do about it?
