Heading up to Chetwynd mid-October to hunt moose and elk any advice would help! Usually do the our Annual Burns lake hunt but getting to busy in the area just like it had in my home town of 100 mile :p and were lookin to change it up this year, I've heard good things about the Upper-Halfway River and willing to head a little further into the bush to try and get away from traffic and not afraid to do some bushwhacking and hiking.

Thanks fellow hunters cant wait to hear back!

It's crazy busy up here with hunting activities right now, but you have the right idea try to get off the roads and hike.

Del Rio & North Monias (straight out the Jackfish Lake Rd & keep going) are dependable... and 'popular'. But things will have calmed down a lot by mid-October. Best advice is to get off the quad & walk, as others have said.
