Anyone know of some little easily accessible camp sites in region 7-48? Heading up there in a few weeks and we are just trying to find a site to call home for a week. We haven't hammered down a exact area of 7-48, so any areas in there would work.

Thanks!

Anyone have info on the mile 185 Rd in region 7-48 for hunting and setting up camp?

The 185 Road has had a ton of O&G activity on it last few years, but has definitely subsided somewhat. There are side roads to put camps on and of course there are existing camps here and there. Check it out, but if it isn't any good, then hit the highway and go north 1km and go set up camp down the Redfern Lake Road, which is 7-42....hunt the Pocketknife area...lots of moose and some elk.... and also the trail into Redfern....you may know all this already :)

None of us have been up into that area at all. I'm just looking at the backroad a mapbook, how's the area up towards the Klua lakes area? Thinking we might try the red fern area as well as something farther up in 7-48. Thanks for the info!

I wouldn't go to Klua Lakes as can be pretty boggy getting in there. Redfern Trail would be good though. There are some good places for moose in the first 25kms...before Nevis Camp, but also good after that. If going down the Redfern Road, you should check out Pocketknife....look on map at start of road.
