Van Horlick FSR

Has anyone been up the Van Horlick FSR recently know the conditions? Going to help a buddy with his goat draw and he says the road is no good but I have a feeling he went up the wrong road. Any help would be appreciated.

Have heard it is very overgrown but don't know for sure. Haven't been for about 10 years and even then it was an alder tunnel.
