Duncan bar, two bit bar, would be my best bets right now they are in Glen Valley Regional Park. Try bar fishing with roe or spinning glow.

The chuck has been great....with the banana being closed there are still tons of areas to fish that ARE producing fish.

I'll be trolling a herring strip all by itself on a jughead teazer and an anchovy type spoon behind a flasher on the other. Not sure where t10 is but maybe my 17 footer will get me there.:)

Was thinking of trying Ambleside launch. I hear its shallow there and need a certain tide to get out sorta like Tsawwassn. How is launching there these days?

MB_Boy

There is also Vanier....better on a higher tide.

ambleside is fine for launching but as you said, not at low tide....I think it was about 5 foot when we launched but the boat we were using was not huge

4' is my minimum at ambleside with a 17' deep v. The truck gets a bit salty when its that low but it'll work.

Hey guys, if your fishing. Pt. Grey, North Arm, Iona, T10 Sandheads. There are a few ramps, near captains cove off Ferry Rd. In Ladner, another near Westam Islandr, another ramp at the end of # 1 or 2 road near Steveston, and if coarse Mcdonald Beach park North side of Van airport. All are good access to fish these areas. I also use McDonald when fishing Cap mouth, freighters, QA Roger Curtis, Hump ......... Just a few ideas for you all.

Was flat as a pancake. Started at the north arm which was bumpy early in the morning but Sandheads was beautiful. There were guys out there in a little 14' tinny.....so VERY doable. They were older fellas and we were convinced they were doing all they could to not be home with their wives. :-P

I'm just getting into Salmon fishing, figure living in Hope right by the mouth of the COQ I might as well try to fill the freezer and / or smoker.
Have been walking the shores for a week or so and there are a number of fish being caught and the COQ is full of spawners now.
What salmonid has a yellow belly? Never seen anything like it before ( with my limited experience ) and the Pinks are a lot different looking.
Dozens of these yellow bellied fish along the banks and dead in the COQ and saw one guy haul one in the other day. And yes, he was a poacher as he was a couple hundred metres up the COQ.
Springs ?

Glenny
09-08-2015, 12:20 PM
Right on. I was fishing 40- 50 feet of wawa and about 25 feet down.

Glenny

Did those yellow bellies have tiger like bars on their bodies. Could be chum.

That's probably it - I'll take a closer look tomorrow.

Pinks also get quite yellow when they are near the end. It is a little early for chum in any quantity.

Reason I had ruled out Pinks is because the last big run, 2 years ago there was no yellow to see?

If anyone is contemplating getting out....the fishing for springs is great from the Bell right down to Sandheads. LOTS of big fish coming in too!! The bite was ridiculous early today and hung on for when we got out. Rain aside I will be out early Thursday. Early boats were picking thru fish well into double digits and a GREAt average quality with a good number breaking 30lbs and a good number flirting with 30!! CRAZY good late Sept fishing!

Chovies or smaller 5.5" herring....35/'40'-70'.

There's some Biggys still out there off the Fraser mouth with the South Arm producing best. Lots of opportunity for fish in the high teens, twenties and thirties !

Get out there, bait best, 40 to 80 feet.
