How's yer chickens

Ok, I know most of us here on HBC are pretty much caught up in the bear season that is upon us(can't wait for the photos to start pooring in!). And I know that the fall hunting season is still some time away, but i've noticed the last few weeks driving to work that there are a gross number of chickens running around(not that it's a bad thing), They must have had a good breading season last year. Just wondering how they are doing in other parts of B.C? Have you been seeing lots on your bear outings? or like myself on your way to work?

I seen one when I was out quadding this weekend and one last weekend.

Man, we say like 4 grouse today. And heard another 3 making noise in the bush.

When i was out in the bush camping on the last long weekend i saw as many if not more then i saw last year at this time. Region 1-3. hunter 1947.

iv seen 6-7 ran over 1 out quading..so i stop and there it was flying away into the bus,iv had 4 or so actually come down the mountian behind my house.and i seen 1 last night.and a few driving to school in the mornings

i cant believe how many blue grouse r out!... i see about 3 a day when i go out!.... last year i was lucky if i saw 1 every 5 times i was out!

Blues ? In Okanagan ? Will have to start watching closer, have never seen one below 1500 m. here.

I've seen chickens pretty much every time I've left the pavement this year:) Today I even seen a Chukar run across the road out by Clinton never seen any in that spot before.

Can't go anywhere where we hunt without seeing several in a day... They are doing well by the looks of it... Lots of nice big plump ones too.
