I had the same stove made up many years ago. The door is not air tight, and it lasts all night just fine. The downfall of the design itself is, no matter the stove pipe configuration, lots of smoke always billows out the front when stoking it. If you can get it NOT to do this, let me know.

The wood stoves we had in the house if you opened the door fast you would get smoke. But if you Crack it open , then open door slowly you cold avoid the smoke out the door.

Also, try opening the stove damper and then opening the door of the tent just a bit before you open the stove. Air will be more easily drawn into the stove and up the chimney. Have heated my house with a wood furnace in the basement for ever. Usually get no smoke if I open the dampers and slowly open the door before throwing more wood in. Every once in a while I get a bit of smoke backwash. Opening the basement door fixes it right now.

Before you open the door, open the damper on the door all the way for a minute or two and let the fire really get going.
When the fire is roaring pretty good, slowly open the door just a crack for a few seconds, then slowly open all the way.
The hotter fire will create a draw up the chimney that will not allow any smoke to escape out the door as it is drawing air in thru the door.

This works for all stoves.
Biggest mistake most make is yanking the door open, which creates a downdraft, thus all the smoke out of the door.

My cylinder stove instructions said to make a silicone gasket, I've never done it though. What they said was to use a high temp silicone or gasket maker type material, but a bead on the stove side just inside where the door would be if closed, put some oil on the door and close the door and leave it overnight. The door shouldn't stick and will create a custom formed seal stuck to the stove.

I made one last year for about 30 bucks and a couple hours...
Basically the same design.
