Start of the season.

What's everyone planning for the first couple days of the season? I know I'm camping in our mulie area from September 1st- September 5th to try and get my youth season buck again this year. I'm so excited!

Ill be going for a week archery hunting.

I'll be out in region 3 with my daughter trying for her first buck. I'm so excited! A perfect end to a great summer!

Going to be up at the lake for some RnR, but debating taking my eldest son out for a bit of youth muley hunting and/or buying a Barnett Ghost 410 crossbow and doing some bow hunting. Probably pop through Reg 8 on the way home to grab some youth season grouse. Then get ready for the 1st real hunting trip on the 9th back to the lake with a buddy and our eldest boys.

I should be dropping a nice deer.
but won't be surprised if I pass as usual in anticipation of the snowy late season hunting.
I do need to stock the freezer though, so I think i'll put myself through the panic in the September heat and take an early deer.

Not sure if I'll even get to hunt at all this season. I'm currently not allowed to shoot for at least another six weeks on doctors orders due to some serious health issues that have flared up.

going to meet up with kevin from riverjet on the 10th and get dropped off somewhere and shoot some elk, moose, goat hopefully! definitely will be taking the bow out though first week of sept and try to connect on a nice velvet mule deer buck!

cant decide between alpine mulies in reg 3..
or try and catch a young and dumb whitetail off guard in region 8 for 4 days.
as much as id love to go alpine I will probably be heading grand forks area, I want to get a little bit of meat in the freezer.. down to 1 moose roast and some pinks ive been catchin.

Labour day weekend for goat leaving the Saturday at 2 am and back Monday evening.
The the following Friday night till Tuesday eve looking in the same place.

Stuck with day hunts only after that :(

I can't remember the last time that I have worked on September 10th.
and this year ain't no different.
hitting the bush the late afternoon/evening of the 9th, setting up camp, maybe have time for a little scout.
pretty much zero sleep that night probably.
then up well before light and starting the hike in, hoping to be in and sitting as the sky starts to lighten.
after that, who the F knows if any critters will cooperate with my intentions.

Out either the 1st or 2nd evening of Sept for a crossbow hunt, then can't hunt for a week then a 3 day elk trip in the West Koots...all local day trips and 2-3 day local camping trips after that until my cow moose draw in 4-39 November..
