Jaffary / Elko area ground squirrels

We're heading out to the Family cabin around Jaffray, can anyone recommend a decent area that I can introduce my boy to some squirrel hunting?

I know squirrels are tasty, but what about a few bunnies? They are a little more meaty.

I'm not sure where the cabin is, but if it's surrounded by crown land like the ones on Tie and Rosen you will likely have the best luck within walking distance. For bunnies you will have to head into the hills.

Yup we're on Tie, I was thinking of taking the Galloway ML back to the Bull ML, just wasn't sure if it was public or private land around the lake

Other side of the highway in behind Jafferey drive up past the mill hang a right on the first FSR loads of area with lots squirrels and some rabbits.
