Hi all we are heading out for our elk hunt in the kootneys (because that's where all the big elk are)
usually we go first week of October and its any turkey with shot gun and we see turkeys quit a bit. But in sept its bearded turkey with a bow.

my question is what constitutes a bearded turkey and what kind of arrow should I use for turkey. Cheap as possible please as I am cheap.

A bearded turkey is a male who shows a visible beard. That could be a tom or a jake.
A expandable broad head gives the most cutting surface bu a fixed blade will do just fine.
Good luck.
