If this model of engine has been looked after and serviced , what can a person expect to get out of this unit for hours?

1000 hrs plus. Luck will play some part.

Get 1000 hrs if you don't look after it! Get 4k if you take care of it, change oil and zincs etc. regularly. Depends how hard you run it and if it's a bit small for size of boat.
