I am in the process of cleaning my first bear skull, just about finished the degreasing part. Wondering where in Vancouver, preferably close to downtown where I can get some peroxide to whiten the skull?

Secondly, what % do i need? I have heard 15% is fine, allow it to soak overnight, rinse under water and dry in the sun?

Any tips are appreciated, thanks

Hair Salon, get the bleach paste used for bleaching hair. I havent used this but seen my buddies 4 point he did up last year. Turned our gorgeous, i think he spread a thin layer on there and left for a few hours then rinsed off.

They go white as can be even with the low strength stuff at any drugstore. Just let it soak longer. Have done a few that way now with great success.

30% peroxide at the hydroponic store. Soak overnight and stick it out in the sun. It will look great

Seems a few folks around here know a thing or three about something or another...

Explain to me why to not just use bleach.
I bleached a deer skull this spring overnight in a bucket with some bleach and it came out white as a sheet of paper.
Way easier to use and to get.

Can make it very brittle

"Chlorine based bleach permanently damages the bone itself. It will start to break down the structure of the bone and will continue to even after it is rinsed and dried. Resulting in chalky, fragile and extremely porous bone that will turn to bone meal with age."
