Hello everyone,

A very good friend of mine is a leather worker and he has expressed interested in the leather and hides from when I go hunting. He makes everything from purses to leather suits of armour. Anyways, I have phoned and emailed several taxidermists in the lower mainland and none of them are interesting in tanning hides and making them into usable leather for leather goods. Does anyone know where I can get hides tanned for use by my friend? He normally goes to Tandy Leather in Surrey and gets his leather there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If Pacific are the guys around Commercial and 22nd then Rides bike and I are thinking of the same place. They'll do it (but I thought they were called Vancouver Fur). Anyway, it's a good option to get rid of hides that you don't want wasted.

Ya...take it to Vancouver furs...
I took an elk hide in once...years ago...wanted HAIR ON.
No hair when I picked it up....
I think you will be good to take it there.

My mom offered to tan my hide many times...

My wife has chipped in a few times as well...
