Thinking about heading to port McNeill this weekend to meet up with my brother to do some fishing, just wondering if anyone knows what the fishing is like right now, any pointers would be appreciated, will be looking for halibut and salmon.

Pink, pink, pink, spring, pink, pink, pink, coho, pink, pink pink, spring, pink, pink...

Lots of fish, bait may not be your best choice with all the pinks showing up.

Have a search on sportfishingbc.com.
Lots of info on most fishing areas.

Fish the backside of Malcolm, Bear point, Malcolm Pt and Black Bluffs are all holding springs. Forget bait, fish big 5-6" 50/50, sliver or white spoons, 50-75'. Or fish the purple haze, glow green or blue green hoochies at the same depths. Pinks will be there and you will still catch them, but it is cheaper that bait........and they springs love the big spoons. We used the spoons in hardy last week and they kicked ass.

I fish pretty much everything... and one side will always run bait, and rarely does it get out fished. When pinks are thick you only have one choice... run spoons, hootchies, plugs or what ever.

Ended up with a ton of pinks a beauty coho and a 14lb red spring, not bad for 2 days fishing would've been nice to get a halibut though, my buddy got a ling cod.
