Bring in a couple of packages of terriyaki powdered spice. Sheep down, don' t leave the ribs, brush with terriyaki sauce mixed with some water and prop up in front of a slow fire and nurse a rum and water while you drool over the smell of fatty sheep ribs self basting beside the fire. As close to heaven as you can get.

Up hunting elk near Tuchodi a couple years ago we ran into a couple cowboys that had been hunting up there for 40 years. They said sheep was by far their favorite game animal.

They made it sound better than beef rib-eye. True??

When you're starving after a long hunt I'm thinkin' you don't need any spice other than a pinch or two of cape salt. I still remember eating 8 or so chicken drumsticks in 2 minutes after walking a long ways out to the truck ... it had flavour like you would not believe.

There's nothin' like hunting sheep to make one appreciate the simple things in life!!

I got a 10 yr old ram up the Tuchodi last August and it was so good it didn't need anything on it. Way better than Dall.

Had my first Dall sheep steaks earlier this summer. Just salt and pepper and it was amazing. My wife even went so far to say that she would love to have more in the future! Yay!

When I get down to Seattle, I stop in at Penzies Spices near Pikes Place Market and pick up their Turkish Seasoning. I'm addicted to this on my game meat and always bring some with me on my hunting trips. At home I take a little more time and marinate my game with the Turkish seasoning, some minced garlic, cilantro and olive oil....fantastic.
