You are mistaken! It is sept 24th at 0600 hours. Ellis and the boys lobbied to have it changed due to resident hunting pressure.

Full moon Sept 28th.
Any thoughts on how this may effect moose hunt/rut?

Break out the night vision goggles. They will probably be fairly active at night. Get out early hunt first light and hunt them until your legally not allowed to at night

lol...actually , the Biologists did a study in the 80's and found that Sept 28 had more cows bread than any other day...so there you have it folks, its the 28th! But you wanna be there before more so than after in my experience. The bulls get tired and hit the timber sometimes to recover, so the front end is better than the back end...of course they come out again and its not a solid statement, but Ive been in those areas before and not seen anything out in the open come Oct 1...so if you only have 10 days I would be looking for the 23-3 or something like that.

Is this unusual hot and dry weather gonna push back the date a bit?

Just wondering cause I'll be in that area starting Oct. 10

weather does not effect timing of the rut what so ever it is determined by the amount of day light as it diminishes in the fall same time every year

oct 4th clayhurst bc moose were calling more than I have ever seen I was bugling for elk and had a monster bull moose answering me back and swam across the peace river came right to my bugle calling and thrashing the trees the whole way most bizarre thing ive seen in moose behavior

It never a bad thing to try calling any time. Had bulls come charging in from September 07 to November 11.

Indeed I have seen as late as mid November bulls come in silent there is a little slow period where they seem to disappear in between the first and second esterus sept 20- beginning of October seems like your best bet
