Elk vs trail cams

Over the years I've noticed that elk refuse to leave my trail cams alone. I have hundreds of pictures of elk noses, tongues, and eyeballs. They also seem to do whatever they can to knock the cameras down. It seems to make no difference if there is a normal flas, an infrared flash, or no flash at all. Has anyone figured out a way to get elk to leave the cameras alone?

sounds like surefire way to find elk, put up a tcam.

aside from placing your cams higher up and aiming them downward more, nothing really you could do.
if they are curious, they are curious.

I would love to have that problem...just place my cam 100 yards from my ground blind and BAM...elk tag filled. :wink:

Where do you put your cam? Ill go hang mine there and see if they do it to mine.

I was considering putting a nail on either side of my cam with the head left out a few inches as a brace as same the elk rub it an move it around.....also had a black bear break one off last year too...

I get bears licking mine more than anything else. The occasional elk lick.

Cams get put up with sweaty, stinky hands. Why wouldn't they be curious?
