Moose 5:13B

Got moose draw for 5:13B Sept 10-30!
Will be hunting the last 9 days of the draw.

I have only been on one moose trip over 10 years ago and was a different area.

Any information for this area and hunting the early draw would be appreciated.

5-13 is a great area, drew 5-13c a couple years ago with a dry spring and hot summer. Killed our bull Sept 25 th in the morning up very high. Stayed at Fishpot lake and almost every moose killed that year was killed in the morning high up as well. Used to hunt 5-13b with a group that had a remote cabin on the Klisbako. Used to produce moose every year but has been logged hard and heavily run by wolves. Call and wait.

I am going with someone who has hunted the area successfully. Just gathering a bit of my own info as that's all part of the fun in hunting to me.
When is typically the rut in this area?

Expect the last week of September through the first week of October for the moose rut. You should do fine.

Looks like full moon Sept. 28th.
Thinking to head up 18th to 27th to avoid.

leaving Victoria next Friday Sept 18. Should be in Cache Creek late that night and into camp the next morning.
Long range forecast looks like temp is going to drop some.
Super excited. I don't get off the rock often.

Got my LEH and moose tag along with a mule tag. Gears all piled up and been to the range.

Anyone have any more input on the area?

Just got back from a season opener for deer and to get out. Came across a nice bull beating the crap out of a bunch of small cottonwoods. Getting to be that time again!
