Deer hunting in 5-14 along the river?

What's the deer hunting been like from Meldrum Creek to Castle Rock in October the last few years?

My wife's old friend lives up there and recently lost her husband. I thought maybe we could go for a visit and I could do some hunting too.

With no pesky LEH draws to distract me I'm free to hunt deer wherever I want this year.

Not as good as it once was, still produces though if you're not looking for a 200" buck... not saying they're not there. Biggest deer I've ever been a part of hunting came from that "area"... but that was years ago

Every year for October long everybody in our group always has a chance to take at least one buck over 3 days, just remember where you can and can't shoot as there's a few homes that are randomly tucked away and some ranch lands that are a no go.
