I am looking for a cabin to rent in October to spend some quality family time and do some casual (mostly driving forestry roads with hopes of seeing a deer and grouse, possibly short hiking) hunting. There would be 4 couples and one 7 month old baby.
My wife has never been hunting with me and with the baby I would like everyone to be comfortable. I have always camped in the past and we have a tent trailer which is not the best set up for October.
The entire group is family and the wives and baby will spend the day at the cabin relaxing for the most part while I get out with my son and nephews.
We would like something that is within reasonable access to decent hunting areas and a facility that is "ok" with hunting. I would also like something within about a 3 hour drive of the Fraser Valley.

I know I am asking for a lot here but am sure that the vast knowledge of the Hunting BC group will offer great suggestions

Go to Tulameenbc.com and look at the Kellett cabin.
Great location beside the Tulameen River, easy under 3 hour drive from the Fraser Valley.
The owners are great, he hunts, dog friendly and the women can walk to the River, Lake, store in minutes while the guys are out killing things.

Several resorts offer cabin rentals on Loon Lake in 3-30, my girlfriends cabin is on the lake and i spend a week hunting in late october. TONS of good FSR to explore, i still have areas I want to explore up there. Good populations of WT mule, and black bear and the occasional moose. I live in Langley and its roughly 3:45 from my house to the cabin.

I'd recommend White Moose resort, Very hunting friendly, family oriented, general store on site in case you forget some essentials. They also offer boat rentals in case you want to spend a day floating the lake and fishing. The owners know my girlfriends family very well and are extremely nice people, i have stayed at the resort several times myself as well.

http://www.bclakefronts.com/ The cabin's at Red Lake near Kamloops, and don't tell a whole pile of people, but the deer hunting's incredible up there! Gentlemens name is Chris that owns it, and he's a heck of a nice guy too!
