Great hunting around cranbrook, tons of elk, white tail, fair share of turkeys and blackies.

I never seen so much game in one place when I hunted there last fall.

I would actually like to live there as well but have too much intangables here in lotus land to leave. ie wife:lol:

I may be biased, but I think its the best hunting in BC.

The hunting is terrible. The weather is awful. The people are rude. You wouldn't like it.

Just kidding! Actually, the hunting is pretty darn good, weather isn't bad, and the people are mostly nicer than me. You'll probably like it. The only bad thing these dasys, is that the cost of housing in the Koots is astranomical (IMHO) and getting worse all the time. I dunno much about rent rates these days, but cost of owning anything around here has trippled and then some in the last 3 years. If there was anyplace else on planet earth I'd rather be, now would be a great time to sell and get out of here. But, noplace else I wanna be - so here I sit. :)

The hunting is the sh**s in cranbrook and the rental of houses are $1400.00 a month ,you don,t want to move there ,they are going to put all animals on LEH also. LOL just kidding  . You can rent there for $700.00 a month if you look around for a good price. The hunting is very good to excellent, good luck when you move there. hunter 1947.http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/images/icons/icon7.gif

You would be lucky to rent a house for 700$ and it would not be much of a place, decent places go 850 and up and unless you got $ forget buying anything I.E.3 beds, newer place, decent yard ,for less than 250.00-300+.My friend just sold his really small and crappy old shack with a tiny lot for 120K,he paid 32K 4 years ago.Our place has tripled in three years but I love it here and I never want to move.

Help wanted signs are everywhere, apply at the mines, if you have any kind of experience with running equiptment that will help your chances. They pay good, 4 days off, beniefits etc.

Lots of work here. Prices are going up FAST. Wages are going up SLOW. Hunting here is good which is amazing considering there is TONNES OF HUNTERS UP HERE(one being every tree)not kidding. There is better mulie hunting in princeton or williams lake for sure.Black bear hunting is not great.Lots of elk especially 5point and down. The grass is greener.......

Timing is everything... everything I want is always $200K more than I can afford when I want to move and buy, everything is always $100K less than I want when I want to sell.

I've love to transfer into BC....I work for Customs and can move anywhere along the border quite easily. Damn prices are a bit high for my liking, but I'd really like to get there one day.....something about BC intrigues me so much with all the great hunting.....

I might be moving there sooner then I think. Either cranbrook or up north where there is alot of money to be made. Does any body by anychance know of any heavy equipment operator classes or schools? Im in desperate need of finding one so I can get all trained up and be working in the bush or something.
Let me know
Thanks

Just a thought but there are quite a few small towns outside the Cranbrook area in which you could live:smile:

The hunting, as evidenced by the pictures posted by members on this site, looks to be pretty good. Lots of mouintains
