Does anyone know of someone that has knowledge of older (1960's??) fly rods?

Made in Germany, just under 9', in very nice condition. Not necessarily looking to sell it....more curious about history etc.

I'm in the LM.

Thanks!

Yes its cane. Did a bunch of searching online, and while there is a fair amount of info on similar rods, I haven't been able to find anything on this specific one. It's in really good shape, still have the original fabric "sock" from the manufacturer.
Just curious if anyone here knew of someone that was knowledgeable on these rods.

Thanks.

Try on the "Speypages " web site. Or google cane rod makers and see what pops up.

D.A.M. were more noted for the Quick spinning reels.
It takes a craftsman to make a fine cane rod. Mass produced rods pay little attention to the spine of the "blank" and they wobbled like a limp dick after.............you get the idea.
Germany and Japan produced goods after WWII were given preferential import treatment as part of the reparation program of each country.
So this is why you don't see too many of those cane rods hanging around. Low quality mass produced post war offerings quickly displaced by fiberglas rods.
