For sure. The elk up Harrison are doing well. I have lots of trail cam pics of cows and three big Bulls and a bunch of young guys. There are two herds that I know of now. Maybe ten years from now we will have a leh

Herd up Stave Lake also. I have a picture of a four point. Just west of the Mission RCMP detachment. People are also seeing cow elk up in the Rolley lake area.
Nice catch Brewster.

Good luck on the leh. We have a large herd that the Indians are allowed to harvest but instead of giving the residents some tags they relocated 20 or so of them.

The stave herds at the North end are good as well. Two separate herds up there that I have seen as well. It's only a matter of time and we will have quite a few. They should keep doing well as long as the wolves don't show up.

I know of one wolf being shot up in Deroche. That thing had a belly like a barrel. So they are around.

There was a logger up there that was working under a machine up there and a cougar stalked in and got right on him. Luckily it didn't like the smell of him and took off

I've seen more cougars, including females with kits, and large toms, up there than
anywhere else in my travels within BC.

Food for thought, IMO, there should be no GO tags or aboriginal permits on any transplant herds.

The elk up Stave are doing well for sure. I've boated up past Winslow creek and they have some major trails heading up from the valley bottoms. If only I could get a draw?!?!?!?!

Since when do the aboriginal need permits ???? Its always open season for the "Keepers of the Land "

there are 2 areas where there elk and no guide outfitters so we will get all the allocated amounts after the native share. this should bring the guide outfitter ,s percent down from 20%. hopefully there will be more of this happening in the future
