Better shut it down for commercial and Indians too then, the fish will need every chance they can get, if my one hook that MIGHT happen to catch something is that dangerous then nets that catch everything in their path will just be devastating.

most people who know fish are not fishing already... i was up at the Cowichan for last saturday and sunday all told probably 15 hours or so of swimming... not a single angler..
this regulation i do aggree with but it unfortunatly will fall on def ears for many, it will not be enforced... and people who dont look at the sign boards will still fish... and the cowichan goes Fly only above Skutz and no fishing below in one month anyway,, still ..... not many guys fish in that anyway...

I would hope that most fishers in the know would already have this figured out. Then there's the dudes who head down to the canyon pools for a swim to beat the heat and discover pools stacked with "big trout". The ban will have little effect on salmon but will take some pressure off locked in steelhead and resident trout.

Native and commercial have the biggest impact, all 3 should be shutdown at same time

I guess you know there are no commercial salmon fisheries open on the south coast at this time except for Alberni Inlet where there is also an open recreational fishery.

but being the "keepers of the land" surely they were well aware of this drought long ago, while they were foraging for berries and herbs, and have halted all their fishing already.
