looking at the fur on the far one he looks a little beat up -seems a little late for shedding winter fur..is he scarred/mangy or just late shedding winter fur?

Sorry to hear of your loss.

Good to see some mule deer fawns here in the Valley. Would like to see a bunch more outside of town. Photographed the same 3 bucks on the 18th... Noticeable amount of growth since then! You can see it in the splits and the drop tine on the one... The tall antlered buck is getting on in age. He keeps his frame but he's regressing on tine length and looks like he's gone from one front fork last year to none this year. Great seeing these guys around town!

My condolences to you and your family. Only time will dull the sense of loss. That and good memories.

Hopefully your regular yard visitors will give you a sense of comfort, knowing that it was something you enjoyed together.

My condolences. Animals - at least pets - can certainly sense passings and react to them. The pictures are cool and the implications are cooler.
