G' Day Lads,

I am booked to come over to BC in June and I am wondering if it is worth shouting myself a new Drenalin while I am there. To this end I was wondering if any of you would know what the average price would be for a new Drenalin with Mathews rest and quiver, over here the bare bow retails for around $1,300.00 and the rest and quiver can set you back another $200.00 odd each.

I am not after a firm quote or anything, I am just wondering if it was a viable idea as I have mate who is keen to give me a good price for my Switchback.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Cheers Noel

Noel,
These two retailers are the only ones that I have in "My Favorites" that list Mathews bows.

Give them a look and/or an email..........they should be able to help you out.

Good luck,
Dan.

G' Day Lads,

Hermit, Bowwalker,

I will keep that in mind

Pupper,

I am shooting a switchback now and have heard that the Drenalin is every bit as quiet, smooth and quick as a Switchback, if that is the case than that will do me 8-) .

What bow do you suggest, please don't say Bowtech ;).

Cheers Noel

Have you considered
PSE http://www.pse-archery.com

or Ross http://www.rossarchery.com

or Alpine http://www.alpinearchery.com

or APA http://www.apaarchery.com

or Evotek http://www.evotekbows.com

or Whisper Creek http://www.whispercreekarchery.com

When I was researching - just before I bought my Diamond - I was very interested in the Whisper Creek lineup.

This link might help you sort through some of the dross before you narrow your search. http://www.huntersfriend.com/2007-Bow-Reviews/bow-specifications-charts-main.htm

Good luck and above all - have fun.

BW,

Thanks for the links, I hope to be able to shoot a few different bows while I am over there so these links should as you say help to "separate the wheat from the chaff".

Hi Noel,

before I shot my bow I tried

AR Velocity, AR 34, PSE Diablo, Mathews xt, Mathews switchback, Bowtech allegience, Bowtech Tribute.

I personally chose the bowtech tribute due to the short axle to axle, the light wieght, the feel of the shot, and the fact that whenever you pull back the string on a bowtech the binary cams readjust, and you get no nock creep like you do with a solo cam. I personally liked the feel of the tribute best and thats is why I bought it.

One person turned around as to not see what bow was shooting and was asked what bow he thought was the loudest and twice the bow he identified as the loudest was the mathews drenalin.

the fastest bow is the bowtech allegience, tribute, gaurdian.

and w/o looking the bowtech tribute was lighter and more compact than the mathews.

if you dont like bowtech (which I couldnt see why you wouldnt) maybe look at getting the new pse x force :http://www.pse-archery.com/prod.php?k=57248&u=0759HF

or elite archery looks neat:

hope this helps

Justin,

Like I tell all my mates when they ask me what bow should they buy, All the top end bows have pros and cons. I don't really go for the shorter bows XT etc and anything around 310fps or better is plenty fast I guess it comes down to noise/vibration these two go hand in hand and of course shootability, feel and the archers preference. The last one is always the hardest to kick  .

Looks like I have a lot of research to do eh.8-)

Thanks again.

Cheers Noel

Hey Noel, add the APA line of bows to your list. They're made in Saskatchewan, and they're also fairly quick. I use the one pin for 10 and 20 yard shots, and of course the pins drop after that... do a google search for APA Innovations, and go from there. No, I don't work for them, but I love the bow and how it shoots for me.

well mate, I can tell you that the mathews does shoot smooth but is the loudest of the ones I tried, I found the tribute had little hand shock but heard the bowtech gaurdian is quiter and has no shock at all go here and take a look at the gaurdian:http://www.bowtecharchery.com/main.html.

stay away from the AR velocity as that bow had quite a bit of hand shock.

cheers

G' Day Lads,

JB, I shot a Trykon in a shop a while ago and I thought "gee that's not bad" when I got home I shot my Switchback, my Mathews felt heaps better, I was confused so I called up a mate who just bought a Trykon and he came around and I shot them both for a half hour or so and for me the Switchback was smoother, quieter and just felt better all round.

Elkhound,

When I bought my first Mathews in 2002 I looked at the Bowtechs then and the finish was pretty ordinary to say the least, I have heard a lot of limbs letting go on them lately?

I have heard that the Vectrix' are pretty good though so who knows where this will end eh,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Cheers Noel
