Hey,

I have been seeing a ton of bear scat and grazing in the 800- 1100 meter range but I havent been seeing the bears. I am wondering if the bears will follow the snow line up like the deer do? I would love to do some sub-alpine and alpine hiking in the next few days but I a kind of torn between hiking with no chance of seeing bears and just straight hunting bears. What do yo guys think, will the bears stay low on the green or will they go to where the green is very fresh. I guess I am asking if they key on newer food sources as they pop up?

Thanks

Hmmm about now its ass not grass so much...bears have found each other for the yearly mating ritual of tag your it..and that is a bit higher in elevation..however still in vresh greens look for the more yellow light lime green grass..higher nutrients...less grubbing means more time for breeding

So I guess the boars should be cruising then? Do they get dumb like bucks do? I will take a big drive and see what I see.

If you grease one make sure to post up the story!

Chased one away from our work site this afternoon, 1600 meters. Eating the vegetation in the freshet/creek area of our cutblock.
