I got all my trail cams in place was one heck of a grind for an old fart putting the salt blocks and trail cams out the mountains really did a number on me recovering real nice woke up this morning and feel real good not to many mussels are sore ,,LOL here are some of my video clips from my two day outings I put on around 12km to get the 9 trail cams and salt blocks in place..

Here is a video of me getting stuck with my truck there was no one around in the area to help me out I tell you if I did not have my back up warn winch I would had been in big trouble I just had enough cable to get up to the top of that bank to hook onto the stump I thought I was going to have to use my I-Spot for help I gave two 30 foot cables away a few years back because I never used them wish I had not given them away a person never knows when they might need that extra few feet to reach out onto a tree or other Was the first time I used my winch in 3 years It saved my but thank you lord for helping me get out of this bind..

I once read someone's advice about using a small tree or even two of them tied in line to act as an extension to your winch cable...it would work great if you had some small rope that was too thin to tow with but could be used to tie with..i have filed it away for the future cuz I am sure I will need to do it one day...heheh

Wayner I filmed that doe last fall. Interesting to see where she is compared to where she was...this confirms and tells me a lot about that big buck you had on cam last spring...

Just got home from checking my 9 trail cams now I only have 8 of them one is gone maybe a bear ??? :-(.

That's possible. I had a bear rip my camera off a tree and drag it away. Thanks goodness he left it right at my salt. Thought someone had stole it. Any big boys?

The one bull will be a good legal bull he is going to split on the back he also has a sticker that will be growing out up top on the crown that will make him a 6x7 this bull I figure when he has finished his growing period will score around the 300 mark ,,here is a picture of him I can't show the side vie picture of him because I deleated most of the 30 thousand picture that where on my trail cams if i do get another picture of this bull on my trail cam and he gives me a side view picture I will post it up for sure....

LOL I don't think so I never see anyone in the area at this time of the year and if I did see someone following me I would stop and let them go on LOL I still think a bear took my trail cam a few weeks ago where the trail cam was it was in a timbered area hard to get to takes me a lot of time to get in where this trail cam was..

I will be driving lag bolts with washers into the back end of the trail cam so a bear won't take anymore of my trail cams my big check on the trail cams will take place on July 24 that's when I will take my drill and ratchet socket drill bits and secure the trail cams..

Look at the day and time month thats when this bull laid a beating on my trail cam the cam was turned 40% the other way from then on no pictures of animals ,,I took this trail cam out its garbage I have put up a different trail cam had to do lots of branch breaking and get the other trail cam up 12 feet now them bull elk will have a hard time laying a beating on the trail cam latter I will put up the video clip on how I put the trail cam on the old dead tree..

Great shots, it makes me want to try harder for that elusive elk I have such a hard time sealing the deal on. I've tried for three years with no success yet, but a few good stories for the ones that got away.

I have been watching this WT buck grow uo from when he was a fork he never got to be a 5 point on ether side he is a 4x4 I would love to take him in the bow season he still has a month to grow his antlers my guess right now in this picture he would score in the 140ties notice the time he came into my lick..

I have 8 more trail cam pictures to put up and that will be the end of the picture for 3 weeks till the next time I check the cams..

I the region I hunt I have noticed a big increase in numbers on WT deer bucks and I have not heard a wolf call so far this year nor have I seen any wolf scats maybe the US has control the number of wolf that head back into the low lands in the winter months ???.

The number of WT does have dropped in numbers with a GOS for two allowed in the area I hunt I see the buck to doe ratio in a stable number this is good..

I really don't care what comes out when I am up in my tree stand in bow season elk or deer I have shot enough of both over my life time I am pleased to have my health and being able to hunt any animals its a gift to me to have the opportunity to hunt these beautiful animals we have on this earth of ours :grin:..

Just to let you know I could not do a complete trail cam check on my trail cams this week my right big toe is swollen up and hurts big time I got stung on the toe and its hard for me to walk ,,I will be checking them a few days before bow season opens ..

I am not trying to be a prick here but a guy should really pay attention to how much salt you put out and where. If you notice in your pictures a lot of those animals look mal nurished and skinny. I put out salt in one of our elk areas and noticed a lot of sick lookin animals showin up the second season we had the salt there. They actually eat the dirt and it makes them sick. This is just my opinion . I am not a biologist but it may be something to think about.. Its kind of like putting to much sugar in the hummingbird feeder.

The blue alkaline salt blocks works the best I have experimented with them all..

Here is a video of the WT buck I filmed about two weeks ago I let him go because I did not think he could top my biggest deer ,,looking at this video latter this WT buck would had beaten my biggest WT deer to date I figure this buck I filmed out at about 400 yards was the one I wanted to late now but still have a chance at him next year if he is still around WT I figured this buck on your left would had scored 150 range there is a smaller buck to his left sorry about the blurry video was not that clear because the deer were out there a long way deer are territorial animals.

You can tell that is a mulie immediatly . Whitey numbers are still strong and growing fast . They are taking over like rats . Mulie numbers are up this year aswell over last year and its about time they have a rebound and bounce back .

Mule deer numbers are up, if they're in habitat such as a good burn. But they are compromised in most areas. Up in small pockets and down in most.

Whitetail are my favorite animal to hunt and observe by far ! .
I am in no way putting them down by calling them rats i should have been more clear and was using it as in that they breed quick, hide in the most unsuspecting places and have the highest survival rates comparitive to mule deer . They are a very smart animal . I see handfulls of whitetail everyseason and only see more and more as the years pass by . .
