hi all

a good friend has asked me to dispose of his cassette tape collection

500 - 600 music tapes in 24-3 drawer wooden cases -

about 75% country (prior to 2000, all the good ones) 25% misc (classical, some pop, elvis, beatles, glen miller, etc etc)

(yes, I fully understand it is not the 80's anymore......)

far too nice a collection to send to landfill, thought I would offer it up to anyone on here that might use it for house/truck/cabin

I am in white rock yet would be able to meet between here and say hope (and I am on the island monthly to visit dad in a home)

free for a week, then off to sally-ann

thanks

chris

Sounds like a sweet collection!

What is a cassette? I wonder if you can even buy a new cassette player anymore?

I'm sure someone will scoop up the free deal!

lol, was rocking some Ugly Kid Joe in my 92 BMW the other day, even though im not that old.. i still have some tapes kicking around. Even mixed ones from taping songs off the radio ! lmao, somewhere in a box i still have a Sony Waterproof Walkman, big yellow brick that hung off your belt was so large and heavy. Was the cats a** when i was a kid. Cut lawns and bailed hay for weeks to buy that thing.

I use the cassette player in my vehicle to hold my phone. Fits in there perfectly. Pro tip.

I remember my first trip out to Shearwater/Bella Bella/Ocean Falls.

We had ONE tape on board, Gordon Lightfoot, it was cool the first round but then, damn......the crew was very happy to find some tapes when we hit Ocean Falls....

Somebody will appreciate those tapes.

Found a cabin one time that nobody had been to in years. Pushed PLAY on the "gheto blaster" on the wall and we has some Patsy Cline rocking!
