Just got back from 9 days in florida, visiting my mom took all of our shark gear down hoping to get a few sharks off the beach, we have been land based shark fishing for 10 years now down then and this year was hoping to get a hammer, we had timed the trip right around the start of the tarpon migration in our area in hopes of a good bite, we got out 3 times had some bites first couple nights and one night nothing, and the final night 3 small sharks, a 3ft black tip, 4ft blacktip and about 5 ft hammer which is pictured below, we were hoping for some larger fish but that's fishing, usually land a few 6-7 ft fish but not in the books this trip, was still all worth it for the hammer, the day before saw a 12ft hammer chasing Some tarpon

Is it catch and release or do you fry them up? Mounting?

Ya catch and release, we only take a photo get hook out and put em back, you can keep them though, even use for bait, for bigger sharks

Nice Sharks. Grew up fishing for them (Surf tackle) and encourage everyone to give it a try. Do a little research on shark conservation and please let them go after. Super easy to catch, great fights, lots of fun. Toss out the bait, have a BBQ and a few brews while you wait for the bells to dingle. Fond Memories.
