It's a good road just a bit of wash board and some steep grades

Son-In-Law used to take his Ford Escape up there camping all the time, no problems.
They have a Tacoma now tho' so might have difficulty.

I was up there in the fall, there were small cars up there. It is a pretty good road and they usually keep it pretty smooth. There is some logging that has been going on so they maintain the road. At least it was in the fall. If you got a lowered Honda Civic then take a pass, anything with clearance you'll be totally fine.
Enjoy the lake, it's beautiful.

I hope to be heading up in my F-150 sometime soon, I call his Taco "a nice soccer Mom's truck" and he says my F-150 is a nice old guy's SUV.
All in jest of course.

I camped up there 4 weeks ago. The road is bumpy bumpy bumpy bumpy but completely doable with a 2wd car, i have a stock 97 4Runner. I passed somebody heading up there in an old Ford Probe of all things. Its a nice place to camp for sure, but the amount of garbage left up there is staggering.

Ya seems like people like to leave garbage everywhere they go.
