*bird permit

The environment canada website has been down (at least for me) for a couple days so I can't access any FAQ or info about what to do right now. Spring snow goose season opens friday (NWT) and I found out yesterday that I was supposed to keep and use my 14/15 licence for this spring's hunt. I don't know what I did with it, but I usually toss them in a drawer or garbage at the end of the season (way back in october). Can anyone tell me what the rules are for a lost migratory bird licence? Since you get them at the post office, I'm not sure if they can offer up a duplicate... am I just on the hook for a new one?

Yup....links are screwed going to Env Canada, not matter how you try www.ec.gc.ca (http://www.ec.gc.ca) is not working.

Even tried going in through this way.....but same error comes up saying it can't be found. http://www.canada.ca/en/services/environment/fishing/index.html

I did find this info on another site. take note of the phone and email options to get your questions answered below.

Migratory Game Bird Hunting Permit: Launch of Online Ordering System

Environment Canada has announced the launch of its new online permit ordering system that will improve hunter’s access to Migratory Game Bird Hunting (MGBH) Permits. MGBH permits can now be purchased 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and will be shipped to the permit applicant within 3 to 5 business days. Click here (http://www.permis-permits.ec.gc.ca/) to access the site. MGBH permits will also continue to be available for sale through Canada Post and other independent vendors (http://ec.gc.ca/rcom-mbhr/default.asp?lang=En&n=176C2D42-1) across the country.

To complete an application for a permit, a hunter must provide their name, date of birth, mailing and/or billing address and answer a few questions about their hunting experience. Hunters must also provide a valid credit card number.

The cost of a MGBH permit is $17.00 plus applicable taxes. There is no charge for shipping at this time.
If you have any questions concerning the new online ordering system, the Hunting Permit or the Hunting Season in general, please refer to FAQs for hunters (http://www.ec.gc.ca/rcom-mbhr/default.asp?lang=En&n=F566470E-1) on Environment Canada’s web site (www.ec.gc.ca (http://www.ec.gc.ca/)) or contact Environment Canada at 1-800-668-6767 or CWSpermit_permitSCF@ec.gc.ca.

Thanks. I'll buy another if I have to, just not sure if it's legit to have two licences....or at least two different licence numbers.

I believe your last statement is true. It is unlawful to retain two licences for the same targeted season

go to the government office and plead your case, they'll issue you a new one, you'll have to pay a couple bucks but you'll be legal

I know service bc office will deal with your standard hunting booklet, but migratory is federal....

never hurts to look into the service bc office, could always call or pop into the CO's office for help too
