My girlfriend want to come sheep hunting with me this year and needs some rain gear ,just wondering what rain gear is the best and what the women wear.Or if anyone's selling some medium womens rain gear I would be interested.

The VERY finest I have used in 50+ years and I have used a LOT, is made here in BC-Vancouver, by Westcomb. Their Neoshell garments are so far ahead of ANY others that I will not buy anything else.

They offer womens sizes and just buy shell-pants in a dull colour, they have an excellent grey.

They are sold in better gear shops and I think by direct sale online.

The Eddie Bauer "First Ascent" stuff is pretty good and if you keep an eye on their sales and clearances it can be had at really reasonable prices.

MEC gore tex stuff has been good for me, much cheaper than other brands.

Kuiu - get her the good stuff.....she'll appreciate it and it might pay off for you during "tent time"....

Don't get her a 'male' cut jacket, she will appreciate a ladies cut so much more. She wore it almost daily as it makes a great bug shield too.

Stick with an Arc'teryx jacket that she can wear after the hunt if she doesn't hunt a lot with you. Ashley has just a goretex pro-shell (think its the Alpha AR) that we picked up online for a reasonable amount. Stay away from the thicker arc'teryx jackets as they don't breath as much. For pants we went for the Alpha SL that is paclight goretex (pretty thin but a good shell it not pounding through thick stuff)

MEC is also another great choice if you can put the politics aside.

Second the arcteryx. If you can get to the factory store in North Van you can get some decent deals.

Another option, VERY high quality and rather costly, but, in eVent and multicam if you prefer camo for sheep hunting, is Wildthings Gear in the USA. I use some custom snow pants they made me and an *Elephants Foot* in one of my emerg. kits.....worth the $$$$$, will last for years.

Arc'teryx or Westcomb
