I almost hit one on the way to rupert once... also seen a deer coming down from the airport once.

Take up goat hunting instead

Terrace is not the best deer country IMO. You will see more deer in downtown PrinceRupert or Port Ed. I have seen lots along the road to the Ridley Island grain terminal!! Coastal blacktails.
There are a few more deer a couple hours east in the Smithers, Telkwa, Houston areas. More agricultural development in these areas so more deer. Both WT and Mulies.
If you want to fill your freezer, try the Charlottes.

Their are some honey holes of deer but they are few and far between.
I would openly recommend towards rupert more( but watch the no hunting boundarys around pr.)

It would be more wise for you to start black bear hunting, which is plentyfull here. And while bear hunting try to find moose habitat you can come back to in september.
Terrace= lots of black bear, decent moose populations with a gos and one or two deer just to tease you.
If you have some energy look up we are surrounded by mtns lots of white critters hanging out up their

I don't think anyone's ever said, "Lets head to Terrace for a deer hunt!". Not the greatest deer country.

Bears and goats are the ticket around here. It is a short drive to the Bulkley valley though which has some great deer.

I have also seen a fair amount of deer from the highway on the outskirts of Rupert. But if i were you i would save up some dough and take the ferry over to the Charlotte's and fill your boots, the bonus is the season starts early.

Take the ferry across to the Queen Charlottes at Prince Rupert. Lots of deer to hunt there!

There is the odd rare resident deer but head west to Haida Gwaii and fill your boots. The deer in the Bulkley Valley deer are experiencing a down turn as well. Bear and goat are plentiful around Terrace as others have said.

I've seen a few deer out by the copper during my travels, but I've never seen too many around terrace.
