Region 7A Elk

Looking for a little info on elk in region 7A Omineca. Wanted to know what management units hold more elk than others. No honey holes or GPS coordinates just a general idea where I can start my scouting and research. Thanks a bunch!

x2. I lived in 7a for a while and it never seemed like the greatest producer of elk

North or south I have seen a few decent ones taken but alot less than north or south

There has been a lot seen around Salmon Valley and the river around there.

Thanks for the replys so far and all the pm with the honey hole GPS coordinates. I'll share them with ya moosin! Our main focus will be moose for this hunt. I do realize there are better areas of bc for elk however it would be nice to have the chance at an elk while moose hunting.

Thats what I've done the past two years. I live 20 minutes away from moose ground in 7A, but 2 point bull moose are like unicorns and the LEH odds aren't a sure bet.

There are plenty of elk in 7A within 1km of the significant rivers. Walk around in the heavy bush until your "character" is suitably strong and then go north to find elk you can see from farther than 20yds away. I will continue to walk around in the local bush, but my nickname is "Hardway" and my character needs regular maintenance.
