I just hear that this grizzly was so depressed from all the publicity, she couldn't handle it anymore? Where ever she went, idiots were taking quite "Candid" snapshots of her, and seeing her photo's in this guys cheap "Bear Porn" magazines, which made her look quite fat and much older than she actually was, she went out and bought a Crack Pipe! She can now be found wandering the streets and ally's of East Van, begging for change to buy another bag of "Rock"? Who would'a thunk it, Eh!!!

grizzly could also have altered her behaviour ... and chose to avoid the area for a more secure habitat.

... or maybe the bear got tired of being harassed by photographers and wandered off for quieter parts.

I remember years ago east of Quesnel in the swift river area (5-15), a sow was found dead. Less than 100 yards was one of her dead cubs that was a yearling. She fought to the death, whose to say this female grizzly met the same fate? Mother Nature can be cruel.

That is crap journalism at its finest. I like the part how a photographer from Alberta whines about how "his business" will have to shut down if that's the case. Shut up and get out if that's what you have to say. Absolutely no fact here whatsoever. I am incensed at this article. Everything based on hypothetical situations. That's what I think of it and I rarely put my two cents in on these issues.

HBCers with Facebook accounts need to go on the comment section and speak their minds, theres enough idiots out there that buy into this that we need our voices heard as well

you guys don't know squat...the bear got into a silver car capable of doing 88 miles an hour and than a bolt of lighting the equivalent of 1.1 jigawatts struck which in turn activated the flux capacitor and now its in 1955.

I guess he wants human habituated Bears to photograph.

It seems the root of his concern comes from the fact that his photo tours may come to an end..and he's looking out for himself more so than the grizzlies. I would like to see/hear how it goes this spring when he tries to photograph some hunters when they are hunting/shooting some grizz like he plans on at the end of his post. Can't see that going well at all..:???:

Where's the story here? They don't even know what happened to this bear or if it's even dead. But a story is developed with the main emphasis being to take another jab at the grizzly hunt. And the Province says it covers this issue in an unbiased fashion? They also describe this 700 pound bear as a "quiet and and easy going bear" around people? Sounds a little like something Timothy Treadwell would say. But more importantly, it's put in the article to build sympathy. It's also misleading to say that the only data the Ministry used to increase the LEH quota was that not enough of these animals were harvested in the last season.

So you wait. This guy says he's going to the chilcotin to record the number of hunters "driving up and down the road" looking for a grizzly. It doesn't matter what the topic is, a researcher with a strong bias one way or the other is a researcher whose findings should be seriously scrutinized. But you wait, whatever crap this guy comes up with, you can bet it's going to get air play.

yes, a mother bear WITH cubs... that's a really good subject to bring people into the bush to photograph...
an idiot obviously! this articles most factual news is that there are idiots out wandering the bush...
hope he has a rifle with him when he does that. I doubt it though as this guy obviously isn't "all there"
but then this is a "friendly" bear. it wouldn't harm them if they're too close...
we need a sarcasm smiley... lol,

These "Photographers" are harassing wildlife on a regular basis. Hunters are in and out, usually within a week. These bears will get aggressive from being chased around by these asshats eventually. It never ceases to amaze me how stupid city people are.
Theve effed up their environment and now their trying to manage ours,,,,wow

Some truth to what you are saying

But it also could give the reason why this bear is not being seen. Could have just got sick of being photographed and moved on

I know for a fact that our regional biologist believes the constant harassment form the boatloads of photographers have a terrible effect on the bears and there feeding patterns. This chases many bears off the river and others to only feed at night. This is fact!

We need to find out if the business owner has recreational tenure to even do this.

If she was that "Famous" she probably signed a contract with MGM and moved to Hollywood to star in the Timothy Tredwell Story, her big scene comes near the end.

there are as many theories as to where this bear is as there are anti's lol. Here are some of my theories...it moved to another valley with more food, it got chased out by a bigger bear, it had cubs and decided to move to a safer location, it has become educated from the years of harassment of photograhpers and knows how to hide better, it got old and died, it got attacked by another bear and was killed, it got shot, it got hit by a train etc etc etc
