Just saw this news report about an oil sheen in English Bay around the anchored ships.

Apparently this stuff is toxic and the public is being warned to stay away. Doesn't look good.

Any petroleum product is toxic, they dont make this much of a fuss when the train cars go off the rail and dump thousands of liters of gas, diesel or orther "toxic" chemicals into the rivers. It doesnt make the front page.
This stuff is just a less refined version. Alot of people I know, have used either diesel or gas to wash parts or their hands of grease or gunk. They're all ok still. Yes this stuff is terrible for the environment, but the Deepwater Horizon spill in the Gulf of Mexico discharged "210 million US Gallons". This spill was alot less, especially if they have it all cleaned up in a few hours.

What paper are you reading? It certainly would and has made front page in B.C.
