View Full Version : Kenetrek boots in Prince George?
I heard that there is a Kenetrek dealer in Prince George. Does anyone have any idea who it is? I heard it's just a guy selling out of his house. Looking for contact info.
Thanks

I will be visiting him soon so the wife can buy me a new pair of mountain guides. He has a big display at the PG gun show every year. Riccardo lives in the hart highlands.

Although I didn't end up buying kenetreks, Riccardo was great to talk with, excellent service

I bought mine at the gun show. They had a good sale on, and when I waffled a bit they gave me another 10%. I,ve used them 2 years in the mountains and I think they are the best boots I've owned

Dear diary the dawg I truly hope that isn't you in the picture if so the goabc would have no fear of a Sally like that cheers
Yeah I'd be interested in the actual gun show too, although Dawg's gun show comment is hilarious (Well played). I tried on some Kenetrek boots. I've gotta say they were the nicest, most comfortable boots I've tried, but I just couldn't shell out the $535+ for the boots. It didn't sound like there was any wiggle room on the price. It'd be nice to find them on sale at a gun show, I'd have bought them! Ended up getting another pair of Scarpas from Timberline. Great service and the boots are solid.

Does any one know if he carries those Kenetrek Gaiters ?

He does. I bought mine from him. I have Sitka gaiters too and prefer the kenetreks.

There are not too many good gaiter companies out there ....so I was looking at the Kenetreks ,I like the colors you can get them in, they look lighter, and the price is cheaper than the Sitka. I figured Kenetrek would be a good brand, I just haven't pulled the trigger yet because I hate ordering stuff online, as apposed to buying it in person!
Thanks for the info !!!

I wear a size 12 boot and the extra large gaiters just fit.

If, you treat those with Obenaufs LP, they will last much longer and be more H20 resistant.

I recently did the same. Agree completely. I treated mine. Definitely do it.

I bought some mountain guides at the gunshow earlier this year. They don't give those boots away do they!
They sure don't but if you consider the use you'll get out of them and the quality of build you are probably better off investing every 5-10 years than spending a couple of hundred on cheap boots every other year. And your feet will be happier too.

Old thread resurfaced, but relevant. :)
Can the new mountain guides be resolved with a caulk bottom? I think the old vibram soled ones could be, but the new ones have upgraded the soles. And Kenetrek doesn’t sell caulked mountaineering boots anymore, like they used to.
I did phone, I think there was a bit of confusion with my question.

Not sure about caulked kenetreks, but if you're looking for a comfy boot give these a try https://hoffmanboots.com/8-hoffman-armor-pro-calk
A side note, Hoffman don't seem to hold their waterproofing for long, but they do last and require little break in. (Better for the interior than the coast)

Thanks for the link. I think that’s where some of the guys at my work get their boots. I checked out the Hoffman website last week.
They unfortunately ship UPS. The biggest pirates in the shipping business. Once bitten twice shy. :)
