It really is a scenic chunk of BC. I have seen them from the hiway on the 6-28 side around the hiways camp. I think it is pretty safe to leave your vehicle on the haines road. I have never heard of anyones rig getting broken into.
The last decent place to get supplies is Whitehorse, it can be hit and miss in Haines Junction.

My hunting partner and I each got a ram there; mine was just legal but my friend's ram made the BC Record Book.
Get good maps and study them carefully. Use old trails as much as possible. Hunt as close to the Yukon border as possible (but know where you are at all times). Good luck on a dream hunt!
