Only took 6 months for this...

Don't think you can beat the timeline or the quality of work, thanks again Ray.

Hmmm looks great for sure..Dont mean to be a smart ass however to maintain that beautiful ram..choose a different locstion if you plan on using the fireplace...to much heat will damage Rays outstanding workmanship .. nothing worse than hot fireplace..
Congratulations on a tremendous ram an Ray did you proud..
Cheers

It's a spectacular sight to see! Top notch workmanship, by the looks of things.

6 months, sure that's not a typo?! Talk about fast for a Ram...

Great stuff. May you and yours enjoy it for many years to come!

Good looking mount , do the ears look a little rough ?

X3 on the excessive heat and drying not being good for mounts

Looks Great!! Great turn around too!!

I echo what others have said about the location. Hair and hide are not plastic.
I just saw a caribou that was placed waaaaaay above a propane heater(high ceilings). Cape was absolutely black.
Just not worth the chance.

thanks guys, I am not sure if I did Ray a service or a disservice saying that it only took 6 months...hope people don't expect that turnaround time with everything they drop off!

I hear you guys about the fire and to be honest the fireplace is very deep and not a lot of heat comes out, rather it all goes up the chimney. There is next to no heat that hits the ram and if you burn a piece a paper, blow is out then place it under the ram (to see smoke), the smoke rises slowly just as it would in other areas. This just indicates to me that not a lot of heat is raising from the fire... make sense?

I'll hang a thermometer on the ram tonight and see what the actual temp is when burning a fire.

thanks again for the compliments,

srupp

Awesome, awesome ram.

I'm sure your work was harder than Ray's but both efforts turned out great results.

I had to laugh when I read srupp's comment about your fireplace not putting out much heat! It does look awesome there, but maybe that is a summer resting place when you aren't buring in the fireplace?

HAHA ya I know it sounds ridiculous... Just doesn't pump the heat into the room much, that simple.

I will find another spot for it come fire burning season next fall!!!

SruppYes this gentleman is correct! The heat will dry out the mount too much especially around the eyes.I had to perform surgery on one of mine.
