Backpacking sheep river/creek crossin rafts options

What does everyone use to cross the bigger faster rivers . I seen the thread about the alpaca rafts, but 900 bucks any cheaper ideas besides rubber dingies

Lots of cheap one man Chinese rafts that will get you across a slow river. If you have to carry it for a long ways and there are rapids and swift water well you need a well built raft for that.If you plan to float downriver with a Ram you need to be a very good paddler for anything over class II .Even then it is dicey.For a 6' guy and gear plus ram this raft is much better than the alpacas http://www.pristineventures.com/products/rafts-canoes/pr-49.html Or just inflate your thermarest and go for it :lol:
