Spam PMs sent under my user name are not me

That's odd. I got a message from HBC yesterday saying that someone tried logging into my HBC account 5 times. The IP address says China which was probably a reroute. Maybe it was the same person or persons that were finally able to hack in through your log in and started spamming via your name?

I just received a PM from a member using the name Donr. It joined in July of 2011 and it has 1 post since then regarding a grizzly hunt. It's current activity is private messaging.

The PM included a link regarding how to hunt deer. I did not open and will put it in the sh!t pile where it belongs.

The interesting thing is I got the same message as bassplayer, someone had tried logging into my account 5 times and the IP address was China. Thought maybe it was a virtual IP and someone was trying to find out who I was, maybe I'm being paranoid, maybe not ?

Had the same thing happen late Sunday. Five attempts to enter my account. Got a heads up from admin this morning. Some IP in Madrid, Spain. Checked it out and the IP address is a known spammer. Time to tighten up on our identities, I think.
