My 3 hunting partners ( my kids) are all going to be in university this fall, two at home, one in Kamloops. It's going to be tough to include them in any big hunting trips for more than 3-4 days.
We are all experienced backpack hunters and are thinking we could do a few extended weekends for mule deer. We have hunted the Thompson-Nicola extensively and have lost much of our prime hunting areas to the Douglas Lake Empire, logging, and atv traffic. We still love the area but want to try something different.
We had a very successful trip up near 150 mile last fall, and thanks to Steve Rupp we all tagged out.
I am hoping for some GENERAL suggestions for general back country, high country, B.C. desert country that would have limited human pressure. I am not asking for honey holes, what fun would that be.
We have never hunted the Okanagan or Similkameen, and just a bit in the cariboo.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
Be Safe,
Chuck
