All depends where you take it. The guy I deal with for taxidermy I beleive I paid $550 for tanning, prep, and some work out the door

Here's a link to a video of the bear in the pic above. Spotted him sleeping from several hundred yards away, ended up tossing a small stone to get him to sit up. Sorry for some of the video quality. Had no tripod and set the cam up on the ground to get the shot. Have a look

I've got a bear coming back from the tanner (not a taxidermist) and it should cost me $400. They skinned out the paws for me, but I did everything else. I just got it tanned because I didn't want to throw it away. Anyway, 5' bear, $400 tanned. A buddy got a deer hide tanned in the same place and it turned out great.

Same buddy texted me this week. Apparently we're having a contest about who's going to get the big boar he saw last fall while we were moose hunting! :-)

if your looking for a rug u should try to get one early in the spring or a fall bear, come june the hides could be rub out if its a hotter spring, its a 50/50 chance i think
