Absolutely functional- as Ddog told me when I got it- "I dont make knives to be showpieces-USE THEM!"

Takes a little 'extra care' to sharpen them, as you dont want to scratch the pattern.

They hold an incredible edge as well

x2.
I am lucky enough to own one of Daryll"s Damascus beauties. I have lots of other knives that I can abuse, so this Damascus, stays on my fireplace mantel.

the knife shop is finally 95% back together and the grinding has commenced again,
i usually send some kind of plaque to hold the knife because damascus blades should not be held in the sheath all year, after the season can be showed for the beauty they possess in the steels.

2 years after the accident and it still has me spooked when i start the grinder up, its a weird feeling really, but i sure love the smell of grinding steel!! LOL..
i am currently working on several knives for some people and maybe finally one for me.
