View Full Version : Work Channel road in spring?

hi guys!.....was wondering when the gravel road to the work channel is
usually open in the spring?....we have been there a few times in the summer but want to try crabbing/prawning in the earliest time possible(and jig for ground fish)....just wondering on the snow level?

It might be an early snow melt year so your chances of getting in are good. We got a major dump recently but that is it. No base and no frost in the the ground is causing it to melt quick. It is a little early to tell right now. It usually dosnt get plowed. I will keep my ears open and let you know if i here anything.

Just watch where you park in there. Spring high tides reach well up the banks.

thx guys!.....so is early april unreasonable most years?.....wife
and i drove in there early one year and the road was open but i dont remember when that was?....there was snow on the hills but the road was great!...met two older guys who were fishing out of a 14 foot boat and were getting crabs and prawns and a couple of small salmon...
.....they even gave me a beer!!😎...it had to be early may or sooner??....thx again guys. larry
