Wicked pics as always Dana...surprised the elk haven't dropped their antlers yet...they rut before the deer so I would think they'd drop late December or early January like moose????

Elk typically won't drop until late March to early April. I've even seen them still packin into May.

late march Is even really early. similar to you you I've seen lots of bulls packing in may,, I've also never picked up a freshie in march. I've also noticed based on how harsh the winter is can influence when they drop. I believe the kootenay elk, and deer shed a few weeks earlier than the Okanagan elk and deer. could just be coincidence but from what I've witnessed the results seem to make sense. nice pics of the winter range!!
