Well after years of harassing, I was finally able to get a retriever again.

We spent a few months interviewing breeders and settled on Prairie Storm Kennels in Sask. Her mom is a CDX WCX MH and her pops is a FTCH AFTCH

Rosie was shipped home Jan 11th. She is going to be a star. I plan to do the training my self along with some friends at the upper island retriever club. She's now 10 weeks and pretty steady considering her age, understands and listens to sit, kennel, and down and well her drive to retrieve is insane. Shes very birdy.

Ill try and keep this thread up to date as things progress.

Nice looking pup. Surprised to hear an avid water fowler like you doesn't have a dog. I guess it is easy to always find somebody who has one.

Congrats on the new addition to your family, she's a pretty little girl. Almost 2 years ago I bought a yellow Male from Prairie Storm and out of Cruiser I don't think you'll be disappointed. I had him started trained at Ringneck Kennels in Strathmore Alberta and last fall he put up and retrieved the best wild rooster I'v ever got in Alberta. Lots of drive.

well a month has passed and we are getting somewhere. She has learned and obeys ( most of the time ) basic commands ( sit stay kennel down). Just introduced to water, went well, haven't had her swimming but had her iin over her arm pits, had to get in with her when it got deep. Having a blast!

Heres some vids

Way to go Lorne good job, if you are down this way bring her and stop by and we can go to my training grounds. I bet 5 min. with another dog at the pond and she will be swimming like she was born to it.

Here s a quick update. Rosie is now 7 months. SHe is coming along great and has been through most of FF and CC. We are doing pile work and have been working on her marking. It was lost a bit through FF but its coming back quickly. She is running for her JH in July at 7.5 months.
