Being a Resident Hunter, I have used the services of a few Packer/Transporters over the years....... all independents ...... they have not been the G/O Transporters .....
These hunts can be purchased for a fraction of a cost of Guided hunts and make affordability to the Residents more attractive. Plus the DIY is pretty darn fulfilling after your dropped off by Horseback, Jetboat or Plane.
I have been VERY satisfied with my experiences and hunts. I'm not looking into licensing more Independent Transporters where they are already present but how about the many area's throughout the Province where there are none, or it's already licensed to a G/O. Realistically, what are the odds on a G/O Transporter putting you into a prime area For Rams, Bills or Bulls for 2 or 3 Thousand bucks when the G/O knows he can get $30 to 40 thousand from a guided client? Rather a double standard really and a conflict of interest so to speak. So if Independents were licensed in more area's through out the Province, we as residents get more access to the back country which is at present tough and kind of off limits to Residents. Many G/O's want our Resident access to the back country limited ...... why so, this is Crown land and why should they have a Monopoly so to speak on their area. After all, is competition in business not a good thing ?
What's your thoughts .......
